| The Horse of the Sun (HOTS) equestrian facility is nestled in a beautiful private valley in a small, cozy town called Pine Valley. We are merely 12 minutes East of Alpine, 40 minutes East of San Diego and an easy 1 mile drive off the 8 exit. Pine Valley is a rich equestrian town boasting some of the finest trails in all of San Diego just a few moments ride off of the HOTS property. HOTS is a trail riders dream!!! Out our back gate you can ride under the Pine Valley bridge, then onward all the way to Lake Morena resevoir and beyond. Or, if you prefer, out our front gate it is a brief 20 minute ride to the Noble Canyon trailhead where you can access the Cuyamacas and some of the most beautiful trails in East County! The sky truly is the limit when it comes to trail riding at HOTS! HOTS is situated on 36 beautiful, pristinely cared for acres. While walking around HOTS you will encounter many artistic treasures. The facility is filled with beautiful statues and decor. There are several different shady, comfortable sitting areas around the premises in convenient locations. It is the type of atmosphere that draws you in and you never want to leave. Pull up a chair, grab a book and kick up you're feet. Forget the toils of the city and just relax. HOTS is covered with centuries old California Live Oak Trees and gorgeous sky scraping pines. There is a bubbling creek that can be very easily accessed right at the back of the property as well as numerous other creeks merely a few minute's ride away! The creeks are not the only water feature around. There are several fountains and small streams on the property as well! HOTS is a very comfortable, homey environment. There are many comfortable sitting areas where our boarders can let their horse out in one of the 11 turn outs and sit and read a book, or watch their horse at play.
